Dopo l’esordio convincente in trasferta, le TXT Aquile Ferrara sono pronte a debuttare davanti al proprio pubblico. Sabato 14 marzo alle ore 19, al Mike Wyatt Field, gli estensi affronteranno i Marines Lazio nella seconda giornata del campionato IFL – Italian Football League 2026.
I Marines arrivano a Ferrara reduci da un buon esordio a Parma. Nonostante la sconfitta per 20-14 contro i Panthers, la squadra laziale ha mostrato di essere un gruppo solido e ben allenato. Tra i protagonisti più attesi c’è l’import da Duquesne University, Gianni Rizzo, atleta completo impegnato in entrambe le fasi del gioco e capace di incidere sia in attacco che in difesa.
Le Aquile, invece, si presentano all’appuntamento forti della netta vittoria per 22-2ottenuta a Bologna contro i Warriors nella prima giornata di campionato. Dopo quella partita, la squadra di coach Stefano Zucchelli ha osservato una bye week, sfruttata per intensificare le sessioni di allenamento e preparare al meglio l’esordio casalingo.
Durante la pausa, la società ha anche organizzato un media day nel quale è stata presentata la nuova divisa home per la stagione 2026: una maglia rossa, impreziosita dalle iconiche ali sulle spalle, dall’immancabile stemma cittadino — simbolo del forte legame tra la squadra e la città di Ferrara — e pensata anche per consolidare la partnership con Improve, partner tecnico del club.
La sfida di sabato si preannuncia ricca di spunti tecnici. I Marines portano in campo un attacco efficace, una difesa solida – capace di contenere a soli 20 punti l’attacco dei Panthers Parma – e special team imprevedibili. In particolare nella fase di punt, dove utilizzano spesso una soluzione rugby style che lascia sempre aperta la possibilità di una finta o di un passaggio, grazie alla capacità di Impallomeni di ritardare il calcio fino all’ultimo istante.
Le TXT Aquile Ferrara arrivano però alla sfida compatte, concentrate e determinate. La difesa ha già dimostrato grande solidità nel debutto stagionale, mentre l’attacco e gli special team hanno lavorato su alcuni aggiustamenti durante la settimana di pausa.

After a convincing season opener on the road, the TXT Aquile Ferrara are ready to make their home debut in front of their fans. On Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 PM, at Mike Wyatt Field, the Ferrara team will face the Marines Lazio in Week 2 of the IFL – Italian Football League 2026 season.
The Marines arrive in Ferrara after a solid performance in Parma. Despite a 20–14 loss to the Panthers, the Lazio team showed they are a well-coached and competitive group. One of the most anticipated players is the import from Duquesne University, Gianni Rizzo, a versatile athlete involved in both phases of the game and capable of making an impact on offense as well as defense.
The Aquile, on the other hand, come into the matchup riding the momentum of a convincing 22–2 victory over the Warriors in Bologna in the opening week of the championship. Following that game, coach Stefano Zucchelli’s teamhad a bye week, which they used to increase the intensity of their practice sessions and prepare as best as possible for their home opener.
During the break, the organization also held a media day where the new 2026 home uniform was unveiled: a red jersey, featuring the iconic wings on the shoulders and the unmistakable city crest, symbolizing the strong bond between the team and the city of Ferrara. The new design also helps strengthen the partnership with Improve, the club’s technical partner.
Saturday’s matchup promises several intriguing tactical storylines. The Marines bring to the field an efficient offense, a solid defense—which managed to hold the Panthers Parma offense to just 20 points—and unpredictable special teams. In particular, their rugby-style punt formation keeps defenses on alert for a possible fake or pass, thanks to Impallomeni’s ability to delay the kick until the very last moment.
The TXT Aquile Ferrara, however, enter the game focused, united, and determined. Their defense already showed impressive strength in the season opener, while the offense and special teams worked on adjustments during the bye week.
On Saturday night, Mike Wyatt Field will once again transform into a small corner of American football in the heart of Ferrara.
