Sarà Morris a sostituire l’infortunato Kaulana
Lions Bergamo ASD comunica di aver raggiunto l’accordo con il RB Nathaniel Morris per la stagione 2018.
Morris, uno dei migliori prospetti continentali, arriva sostituire di Kaulana-Arroyo, infortunatosi già nel corso della prima partita vs Giants ed assente nella trasferta di Firenze.
Il 26enne da Bristol è atterrato in tarda mattinata e sarà a disposizione di Coach Rita già per la partita di Sabato vs Giaguari, tappa fondamentale per il prosieguo della stagione dei nero-oro.
Ciao Nathaniel, presentati ai tifosi dei Lions
Ho 26 anni, da Bristol, Rhode Island. Gioco a football da quasi 20 anni, al liceo ero un All state running back. Dopo il liceo sono andato alla Hargrave Military Academy (un prep college) e ho vinto un campionato nazionale . Poi ho giocato a Stonehill College in Division II, università che si trova a Easton, nel Massachusetts. Ho giocato cornerback vincendo il primo titolo di conference della storia dell’ateneo e sono stato nominato nell’ All Conference Team. La mia classe ha anche avuto il record più vincente nella storia della scuola e una delle migliori difese del paese. Dopo il college sono andato in Germania e ho giocato per Schwabisch Hall, poi a Francoforte (Universe) e lo scorso anno ai New Yorker Lions. Ho giocato 2 German Bowl, 2 Eurobowls ed in tutte e 3 le stagioni in Germania sono stato statisticamente uno dei migliori giocatori nella mia posizione e ho avuto stagioni di grande successo.
Qual è stato il tuo primo pensiero quando i Lions ti hanno contattato?
Quando i Lions mi hanno contattato ho cercato dov’ era Bergamo ed in quale parte d’Italia fosse. Non conoscevo molto bene il campionato italiano o la squadra ma ero molto ottimista e curioso riguardo all’opportunità.
Avevi già conosciuto Coach Rita?
Non avevo familiarità con coach Rita prima di conoscere l’organizzazione dei Lions di Bergamo, ma sono entusiasta di giocare per un allenatore così esperto e rispettato.
Siamo 0-2 e sabato sarà una partita decisiva contro Giaguari Torino … Quali sono le tue aspettative per il match e per il resto della stagione?
Le mie aspettative per la prossima partita sono vincere. Ho visto i filmati della squadra fino ad ora e abbiamo quello che serve per aggiudicarci l’incontro. Arrivo per aiutare una squadra già buona. Credo che con il gruppo di ragazzi che abbiamo e il nostro staff tecnico ribalteremo lo 0-2 stagionale e potremo giocarcela nei playoff, una partita alla volta fino all’Italian Bowl.
Hi Nathaniel, please introduce yourself
I am 26 years old, from Bristol, Rhode Island. I have been playing football for almost 20 years, In high school I was an All state running back. After high school I went to Hargrave Military Academy and won a national prep football championship before college. Then I played college football at Stonehill College a Division 2 College in Easton, Massachusetts. I played cornerback there and was an All Conference player and part of a team that won its first conference championship in school history. My class also had he most winningest record in school history and one of the top ranked statistical defenses in the country when I attended. After college I went to Germany and Played for Schwabisch Hall, then Frankfurt Universe and last year New Yorker Lions. I have played in 2 German Bowls and 2 Eurobowls. All 3 seasons in Germany I was statistically one of the best players at my position and had very successful seasons.
What was your first thought when Lions contacted you?
My first thought when the Lions contacted me was “Where is Bergamo?”, and I had a lot of research to do. I wasn’t that familiar with the Italian league or the team for that matter, so I was very optimistic and just curious about the potential opportunity.
Did you already know coach Rita?
I was not familiar with Coach Rita prior to learning about the Bergamo Lions organization, but I am excited to play for such an experienced and respected coach.
We are 0-2 and Saturday it will be a tough match against Giaguari Torino… What are your expectations for the game and for the rest of the season?
My expectations for the next game are to win. I have watched films of the team so far and we have what it takes to win football games, I am coming in to add my support to an already good football team. I believe with the group of guys we have and our coaching staff we will turn the 0-2 season around and make a strong run into the playoffs and take it one game at a time until the Italian bowl.
